I have also tried installing the game then copying the entire contents of my brothers (working) game dir into mine. Using the key reseter thing in the support file of the game dir (multiple times). Uninstalling the game and patch switcher and cleaning registry with CCleaner and general clean, rebooting into safe mode, reinstalling the game and the switcher as admin, rebooting to normal doing the Options.ini then testing the game again.

Every time however when I play LAN with my bro I am defeated at 3:30 by the anti-piracy thing, I have installed NO crack. I have to make my own Option.ini to get the game to run and use the patch switcher to get to 1.09. Basically here is the picture I am installing using the Special Edition iso from For-Shire on Windows 10, using the keygen for keys and the supplied disk images with Disk Emu.
